Meet The Alpha!

Mac R. – Head Dog Trainer

I have been a balanced dog trainer and behavior specialist for over 10 years. I specialize in behavior modification and rehabilitation of aggressive dogs and preforming therapy for dogs who have experienced trauma or have chronic anxiety.

I have done a lot of obedience training. My philosophy is that well behaved dogs are the happiest dogs.

I love working with dogs and their owners! I have a passion for dogs that are fearful, anxious and aggressive, and work diligently to bring out the very best in them.

I believe in a balanced approach to dog training and behavior modification using positive reinforcement practices and well-placed correction to best communicate with dogs. Occasionally I do use important training tools for behavior modification such as e-collars with vibrate and tone settings, prong collars, air correctors and martingale collars. I do not use any harmful techniques or tools in my practice.

There are three types of leadership; calm assertive leadership, anxious assertive leadership and aggressive assertive leadership. The type of leadership I support is calm assertive leadership. Calm assertive leadership builds trust, respect and effective communication and helps stubborn assertive dogs to backdown and “submit” out of genuine respect and trust. Aggressive assertive leadership focuses on fear tactics that force a dog into submission.

A big part of success in training your dog includes training you which is why each board and train program includes a 1-2 hour session to go over all your dog as learned.

I strive to help people have the best possible relationship with their dog. This is accomplished through reducing conflict, building trust and communication. I am a confident calm assertive pack leader that my dogs trust and respect. My mission is for every client of mine to be a calm assertive pack leader and have a happy, obedient and respectful dog.
